New-Zealand based conservation technology company Goodnature has further advanced its traps, but this time, in the form of a bluetooth-enabled trap that can be added to any A24 automatic trap. As a result, the traps can interact with users' smartphones, allowing for real-time pest control monitoring across New Zealand. The new technology, named Chirp, unlocks increased accuracy and transparency, about when and what the traps have killed, a timely feature after recent reports of kiwi ‘bycatch’ in an A24 trap.
