Made locally. Used globally.

Why we still design, make, and ship every Goodnature trap from New Zealand.
Made locally. Used globally.

There are easier ways to make a product. You can outsource it, scale fast, cut corners. But we’ve never been interested in easier. We’re here to do things better, for people, for the planet, and for the native species we’re all working to protect.

At Goodnature, every trap we make is still designed, tested, assembled, and shipped right here in New Zealand. From product design and engineering to final assembly and packing, the whole process happens under one roof, in our Wellington workshop.

That’s not an accident. It’s a choice we’ve made, again and again, for more than 20 years.

Local craft, global impact

Our traps might be built in Aotearoa, but they’re used in 64 countries and counting. From New Zealand backyards to British warehouses, from conservation projects in Hawaii to homes in Scandinavia, our solutions are trusted because they work. They’re smart, humane, toxin-free, and built to last in the world’s toughest environments.

And when they get there, they still carry a bit of New Zealand with them. We’re proud to be licensed to use the New Zealand FernMark, the official symbol of origin and trust. It’s a mark that tells the world our traps are genuinely Kiwi-made, with a global reputation for innovation, integrity, and quality.

That promise has been recognised around the world:

  • We were named Supreme Winner and Global Gold Winner at the 2025 Wellington Gold Awards.

  • Our Goodnature Mouse Trap earned a Gold Pin at the 2024 Best Design Awards and took out the 2025 iF Design Innovation Award in Germany.

  • And in the company of giants like Walmart and Suri, we were ranked No. 6 in the Consumer & Household Goods category in US Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025.

Local impact. Global recognition. We’re proud of both.

Meet the makers

Behind every trap is a team of real people, doing real work, with care and precision. Our assemblers, engineers, testers, and operations crew know the products inside out, because they’ve had a hand in every single one.

And they’re not just building parts. They’re building tools that protect wildlife, support communities, and give people confidence that they’re doing pest control the right way.

In fact, some of our staff have gone out and used their own products in the field, through our Rewilding Days programme, servicing trap lines, swapping Smart Caps, clearing tracks. It’s how we stay close to our mission and constantly improve what we make.

Why we stay local

Making everything in New Zealand gives us agility. It gives us control. But more than that, it gives us purpose. We’re not interested in flooding the market with disposable products. We’re here to create solutions that are fit for purpose, field-tested, and designed with intention.

When something goes wrong, we can fix it. When we find a better way, we can prototype and improve fast. And when we ship something out the door, we know, without a doubt, it’s been made to the highest standard, by people who care.

So no, we don’t take shortcuts. We still hand-assemble, pressure-test, and personally sign off every trap. Because the work we do matters. And so does how we do it.

Whether you’re a backyard trapper, a professional contractor, or a conservation ranger, when you pick up a Goodnature trap, you’re holding something made with intention. It was built by a crew of passionate Kiwis with their sleeves rolled up and their hearts in the work.

It’s a small act that creates big ripples. Less pests. More birds. And a wilder world for all of us.

Built in New Zealand. Used around the world. Trusted everywhere.
